NCSF Exam & NCSF Certification Info


The National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) is a professional, member-driven organization for fitness professionals. It offers certifications and continuing education for personal trainers and other fitness professionals. Their certification exams are highly respected in the health and fitness industry.

Step 1: Eligibility and Application

The NCSF Certification is open to anyone 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. You can apply for the certification exam on the NCSF website. The cost of the exam is included in the price of the NCSF Personal Trainer Certification Program, which also includes study materials.

Step 2: Scheduling the Exam

Once you have registered for the exam, you will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) via email. The ATT will include instructions for scheduling your exam. You can schedule your exam at any of the NCSF's testing centers, which are located throughout the United States and internationally. You can also schedule your exam online through the NCSF's testing partner, PSI.

Step 3: Taking the Exam

The NCSF Certification Exam is a computer-based test that consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. You will have 3 hours to complete the exam. The exam covers a wide range of topics related to personal training, including exercise science, assessment, training program design, nutrition, and professional practice.
