How to take WAEC Certification Exams

Step 1: Eligibility and Application

Before applying for any WAEC exams, you need to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria. The criteria vary for different exams. Once confirmed, you can apply for the examination on the WAEC Direct Online Portal. Fill in the required details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee. After successful completion of the application, you will receive an Examination Number.

Step 2: Scheduling the Exam

Once your application is accepted, you can schedule your exam. The exam dates are predetermined by the WAEC and are published on the WAEC Direct Online Portal. You should regularly check the portal to stay updated with your exam schedule. Typically, exams are held in May/June and November/December.

Step 3: Taking the Exam

On the scheduled date, visit the exam center with your Examination Number and other required identification documents. Follow the instructions given by the examiner during the examination.
